Battery-Powered SKLed Lamps Available “By Special Request”

I thought this was an interesting Q&A from the Journal of Nuclear Physics today:

Dear Andrea,
Leds request DC voltage.
Will it be possible to power an Ecat SKLed by means of a battery ?
Best
Christian

Christian Scholl:
Yes, to receive this is necessary to request a battery version.
Warm Regards,
A.R.

I followed up with a question for Andrea Rossi about whether there would be two versions of the Ecat SKLed, one that is powered by the mains, and one that is powered by battery.

If requested, we can supply the Ecat SKLed modified to be powered by a battery.
Warm Regards,

The specifications on the Ecat.com website state: “Power supply: 110–240V AC, 50/60 Hz, or 12 V DC”, which I took to mean that you could use either kind of input, but I was evidently wrong about that. I don’t see an option on the pre-order form where you can specify which version of the lamp you want. Hopefully that will be added to the form soon, because I think there will be people who will prefer the battery version.
