Andrea Rossi has said that his goal is to obtain 1 million pre-orders for the Ecat SKLep in order to start production and distribution. Plan A is basically to carry on with the present status quo, hoping that enough orders will come in. AR had been hopeful that enough big buyers will make up the bulk of the pre-orders, but it seems that those big buyer’s pre-orders have not been solid enough for him to count on.
Leonardo Corp. is asking that big buyers show proof of funds before he is willing to count their orders as being valid, and to put those funds into an Escrow account prior to carrying out validation testing.
From the Ecatorders site: “Prior to delivery, customers may test the plant at a facility of Leonardo Corporation. If the test, based on an agreed upon protocol, is successful, the escrow agent delivers to Leonardo Corp. the payment at the time of delivery. If the test is unsuccessful the escrow agent returns the money to the customer. In this way, both parties are guaranteed.”
Based on AR’s comments, if Plan A does not succeed, Plan B will be implemented this year, and it now appears that it could be implemented in October. Details of Plan B have not been specified, but we do have this Q&A from the JONP that gives us an idea of what we can expect, which is some kind of live-streaming broadcast:

Did I correctly understand that the plan B is hypothesized as a full time 1 year long broadcasting od an ECAT SKLep in operation in the site of a Leonardo Corporation’s client ?
