Rossi: Already Performing Initial E-Cat EV Runs

Thanks to Stephen for asking some questions on the Journal of Nuclear Physics that I would guess a lot of readers here have been wondering about. Andrea Rossi has been rather quiet when it comes to talking about what he has been doing in preparation for the EV demonstration.

Dear Andrea Rossi,

A few questions on the preparation for the upcoming EV test:

1. Is everything on schedule for your first closed doors test with in the first 10 days of October?

2. Are you already performing initial runs with the EV to characterize the performance?

3. Will you also be recording (video, data and otherwise) the closed door test for your own records? This could be useful comparison data for evaluating the performance of the public run.

Anyway good luck and I hope all goes well with you and your team in these last few weeks of preparation.

Thanks and Best Regards
Stephen

Thank you for your kind wishes from all of our Team,

We’re well into September now, no date has been announced for the EV Demonstration yet. Perhaps nothing will be announced until after the mentioned closed-door test has taken place. If that test doesn’t go well, then I would expect the demonstration would be postponed again. It would be very embarrassing for him to put on a test where the E-Cat didn’t work as expected.

Still, Rossi confirms here that everything is still on track for the closed-door test, which I think is a positive sign. If there had already been major problems, then I would expect it would be back to the lab for further fixes.
