Rossi: No Pre-payment Required for Placing E-Cat Preorders

Yesterday pre-orders for E-Cat products were opened up on the shop of the Quantum EverSource website: https://www.quantumeversource.com/pre-order

One thing that stood out is the difference in the pre-order policy on the Quantum EverSource website compared to the policy on Leonardo Corporation’s ecatthenewfire.com. Quantum EverSource required that 50 per cent of the cost of products ordered be paid at the time of pre-order, whereas the Leonardo Corporation website states that no payment is required to place a pre-order; payment is requested only when products are ready for delivery.

Today, according to Andrea Rossi, it seems like things will soon change, and no deposit will be required. Here is an exchange from the Journal of Nuclear Physics:

Dear Andrea,
I wanted to draw your attention to the fact that the pre-order conditions set in the QuantumEverSource web site differ from the conditions listed in the Ecatthenewfire website, primarily around prepayment, which is required at the pre-order time and not at delivery time. Also in that website, it is clearly indicated that pre-orders are not refundable within the initial 369 days set in the terms and conditions.
Could you kindly clarify which terms should apply?
Kind regards
MarsForever

MARS FOREVER, ROBERTO, ECATENTHUSIAST AND OTHERS:
The Partners agreed in harmony upon confirming to maintain the original payment system always applied by us for the pre-orders: no money down at the pre-order, payment in advance at the delivery. The money they cashed during these days have been refunded to the clients that sent them the pre-orders, the system to pay has been disactivated and within today the text of the website will be corrected, all this by spontaneous decision of our Partners,
Warm Regards,
A.R.

I think this is a good move. Having two separate pre-order policies is confusing, and Leonardo’s longstanding policy of not taking prepayment means that there is no risk to placing pre-orders and consequently I believe more pre-orders will be received. It looks a lot better, too. I would feel a lot more comfortable placing a pre-order knowing that I don’t have to make a payment and then have my money tied up potentially for over a year before I could get a refund, if the product is not delivered.
