Unusual Quiet

I asked Andrea Rossi this week if there will still be an E-Cat status update in the first week of July, and he responded yes, that there would be.

I think many people who have been following the E-Cat story over the last years may have noticed that there is a difference in the way that Andrea Rossi is commenting of late. When it comes to questions connected to the commercialization and roll-out of the E-Cat, he pretty much always states that these issues will be handled by his “global licensee”.

Issues related to cost, design, manufacturing, public relations strategy all are going to be decided by the licensee apparently. Rossi is over the scientific and technical development, and this means that he really can’t say a lot, since those issues are confidential.

I think this means that we will be getting less interesting information from Rossi himself. We haven’t yet heard a word from the global licensee yet. If anyone wants to get involved with E-Cat in a business capacity, they will have to deal with the licensee, and there is really no way to communicate with them, unless you can get a referral from Rossi.

So this all leads to a situation of unusual quiet. I don’t know what will be involved in the July update, whether we will learn anything about the identity of the licensee, but let’s hope that there will be something substantial.
