Like everyone else here, I have been trying to learn as much I can about the current status of the E-Cat project. Of course there is very little that can be verified, we only have Andrea Rossi’s own words to go on. Based on my recent interview with Rossi, and other recent comments he has made, here is what I believe is the current situation:
There is an E-Cat NGU plant currently in operation somewhere which is producing at least 1 MW of energy.
This plant is an assembly of multiple 100 W E-Cat units (there are at least 10,000 units combined)
This plant is being operated “under strict control” (Rossi’s words), and is being monitored carefully by Rossi and his licensee’s team.
The plant is producing heat as the major output, this heat being produced by resistors which are consuming the electrical output of the plant.
I asked Rossi yesterday what the purpose of this plant is, his response was: “prevent mistakes for the time being.” He told me that they are resolving problems as they arise, so I interpret his reply to mean that they are learning all they can from this pilot plant and making improvements and refinements as needed. They certainly won’t want to demonstrate or sell any products until they are sure that it can operate without problems.
Rossi still seems to be quite optimistic that there will be a global presentation this year, I would expect that this plant would be used as part of this presentation to demonstrate the viability and validity of E-Cat technology when the time comes.
