From recent comments and answers from Andrea Rossi, it sounds like things are going quite well so far in preparation for the January E-Cat global presentation. Here is a Q&A from the Journal of Nuclear Physics this week that I found interesting:

So that would mean the SSM E-Cat generator has been running for at least three months without interruption. Rossi was also asked how many SSM units are currently in operation for testing purposes, and his answer was 20. I think he really wants to launch with the SSM version of the E-Cat, and he has said that things are going “so far, so good” for this goal.
Another reader asked Rossi about whether third party testing in preparation for the E-Cat presentation has started yet. Rossi’s response was “They will start to work on it in November”. My guess is that this testing will for the purpose of getting data that can be presented at the January presentation. I think they will have to make a decision about whether to launch with the SSM in the next couple of months, before any third party testing begins.
