Yesterday the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC) issued its Sixth Assessment Report which described changes in the Earth’s climate across every region and the whole climate system, and called for action to keep global temperatures from increasing beyond 1.5 Celsius in additional warming.
In a press release that accompanied the report, the IPPC stated:
Many of the changes observed in the climate are unprecedented in thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of years, and some of the changes already set in motion—such as continued sea level rise—are irreversible over hundreds to thousands of years.
However, strong and sustained reductions in emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases would limit climate change. While benefits for air quality would come quickly, it could take 20-30 years to see global temperatures stabilize, according to the IPCC Working Group I report, Climate Change 2021: the Physical Science Basis, approved on Friday by 195 member governments of the IPCC, through a virtual approval session that was held over two weeks starting on July 26.

It would seem that the stage is set, and the timing is good for the introduction of the Ecat SKL and Ecat SKLed
If on November 25, Andrea Rossi is able to make a convincing presentation of a technology that can generate electricity in commercial quantities, without producing CO2 or other greenhouse gases, at a cost competitive with fossil fuels, nuclear, wind, or solar, he could generate significant interest from the business and government sectors who are currently struggling to meet the carbon reduction goals that the IPCC and other environmental groups are pushing for.
I don’t know that we should expect instant conversion to the E-Cat, however. It is a brand new technology which is claimed to operate on principles that are not accepted by most scientists. They will take some convincing. Without the approval of mainstream science, there will be skepticism which could be hard to counter without a strong strategy to convince the public that he has a valid technology.
I think that Andrea Rossi and his partners will need to use the presentation as a kick-off event of a campaign to convince the public of the benefits of the E-Cat, rather than a single event that could quickly become forgotten without follow-up.
I personally believe that the E-Cat has the potential to be a very important part of the zero-carbon solution that the IPCC is pleading for. Because of their remarkable technological achievement, Rossi and his team have the opportunity to supply energy to meet the world’s needs while reducing emissions, but it will require a strong commercial and public information strategy to achieve success.
